"A fairy flies in front of me,
she's saying: 'Honey! Glad to see'"

by Dasha

I can still hear it clearly, running through my ears;
I can still see it beautifully, surfing through my mind,
This story she told me a long time ago. You might ask: "Who is she?", but I am afraid I won't be able to answer you. The matter is that I keep asking this question myself for ages. I can't answer you, but the thing I can do is share the story with you. So, if you are ready, I will start.

It was very hot in Montradell, so Meuthry was not feeling well. She couldn't stand hot weather at all. All fays couldn't. Montradell itself was a very beautiful place. It was full of waterfalls on the South side, but the ones who dared to travel to the North side knew that it was awful. It consisted only of two big hills, with red water around. The water was called "The dead water", because the ones who ever got into it would never get out. You'd be burnt alive there, or eaten by the water-creatures, who lived inside...

The South side, on the contrary, consisted of many hills, with blue-blue water surrounding them. Fays either lived on the big trees, or in dark-yellow high buildings, which were situated high in hills, and there were only 3 houses like that. Meuthry was lucky enough, because she lived on the tree. It was much safer, in her opinion, because in houses people usually saw ghosts, ghosts of the ancestors. Every morning she was awaken by the sounds of the water. But she knew that someday something will make her fly to the house... she waited for this day with fear... and so it came.

Her friend, Navada, was dying and the only thing that could help her was the elixir, that was hidden somewhere in the house. Meuthry was the only one who took the mission. She flew to the house. "Do not fear, fear kills your mind"... The house was not as scary as she imagined, but the mission suddenly appeared to be more complicated. The house itself was like one big closet with thousands of small drawers inside. All of them were locked, and she had only one key... only one... Meuthry started to open each drawer, but the key didn't belong to any. Finally she found the right one, opened it. Inside was another drawer, and inside was a box, inside a box was another key. And so on. She opened almost each drawer, but Meuthry did not find anything that could help Navada, and the time was passing, passing quickly. She started to get nervous, and tired also. Her wings refused to carry her. She started to fall. While falling, she thought about Navada. She recalled the happy days they spent together. She recalled Mosaphio, who would suffer on her grave. Mosaphio, who loved Navada more than life. Those thoughts gave her the power, gave her the strength to carry on. She opened her eyes and it was like breaking away from the paws of darkness...

She opened the last drawer and there was this bottle with the elixir... but then Meuthry heard the bells...

The bells which meant only one thing in Montradell, that somebody was one step close to death and that he would be taken to the North side to die there. Heart stopped...

Meuthry's heart almost stopped at one thought that she would lose such a great friend. No, no way she was gonna let that happen. She knew that the way to the North was the longest ever, but, well, she flew. Using all her strength, all that was left, her wings hurt so much. She flew over the waterfalls, the hills, the clouds, the sea and finally reached the red water. She was flying over the edge all the time and her power was leaving her...

She could not fly any longer. Meuthry, who was the princess of Montradell, was crying. Crying because she felt helpless, sitting on the hill. Suddenly she saw Navada. 'My God, I made it!' - she thought. Navada was standing near the red water and suddenly she jumped! Meuthry couldn't believe her eyes. She flew to the edge to catch her, but the water was so hot... so tempting... a red quicksand...

She caught Navada and threw her on the hill with the elixir, but she could not help herself. She drowned. Drowned saving a friend's life...

Now this place in North side is called "Meuthry Chapel" and is considered to be the holy place on the whole Earth, for princess Meuthry lost her life, giving it to Navada...

**************************

Well, I warned you that it was going to be a sad story. But actually it is not. It is a story, which shows the power of friendship. The love for a friend.

This is just a story, the story about the holiest of all fays.

"Outside, through windows, passing streets,
But my life needs to get some peace."...
