THE UGLY TRUTH

by Nevada Kerr

I never meant it
When I told you I loved you
You were above me
The night that we met
You had the money
And I had the body
Baby don't worry
There's no need to fret

My looks were an asset
I can't complain
I was a knockout
And you were just plain
When I was screaming
I was screaming in vain
My light went out
As soon as you came

Now that I'm old
I just need a nudge
When I'm naked and lonely
And nibbling fudge
Some things protrude
And others won't budge

I can hardly remember
It was so long ago
It seemed like December
I think there was snow
Your hands were tender
But my heart was cold
